The name Civita comes from the Latin word “civitas”, indicating a community marked by civil coexistence.
This key concept has always been the inspiration behind Civita, founded in 1987 to tackle the deterioration of Civita di Bagnoregio, an ancient hamlet situated in Upper Lazio.
Over the years, the range of intervention has expanded beyond local boundaries, and now Civita operates all over the country for the protection and valorisation of Italy’s cultural and environmental heritage.
Today the Civita Group consists of two independent structures, each with its own specialisation and sphere of operation: the Associazione Civita and Civita Servizi .
The important results achieved by the Group over the years have enhanced its renown and prestige, and it now plays a leading role in the sector of the cultural heritage.
